bible reading: isaiah 53:4-6

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;
    it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.

devotion:

The prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of a Savior who would bear our griefs and carry our sorrows. As we meditate on the suffering that Jesus endured for our sake, we understand the profound exchange that took place. He took upon Himself our trauma, so we might receive His peace. Today, invite Jesus to take the burdens you carry and find solace in the knowledge that His wounds have brought you healing.

Question for reflection:

How can you actively trust Jesus to bear your burdens, and what steps can you take to release them to Him?
